Employment Hotline is truly a scam. Even if they don't charge you, it is still a scam. The Employment Hotline advertises jobs with the Arizona Department of Economic Security. They don't state that they are an employment agency in the job listing. The Hotline offers a $40K admministrative job and they will not let you apply like a regular company. They will not take phone calls, faxes, emails, mail, or electronic resume submissions. They make you physically come in to their tiny hole in the wall office so they can give you their pitch. No legitimate corporation with a $40K job would even consider using a place like this. EMPLOYMENT HOTLINE PLEASE QUIT PREYING UPON DESPERATE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR WORK IN THESE HARD TIMES. ...read more

Woman accused of poisoning son in Pa. hospital 2008-07-17 -- PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A woman poisoned her infant son by repeatedly injecting salt water into his feeding tube at hospitals in Tennessee and Pittsburgh in what she claimed were attempts to hasten the death of a suffering child, authorities said Wednesday. Four-month-old Noah King is in critical condition with sodium poisoning at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and police said they believe the baby's medical problems were caused entirely by his mother. Amber Brewington, 21, was charged with attempted homicide and police said she told investigators she had injected her son with salt water five or six times, and that she had severe postpartum depression. Web-based program gives the blind Internet access 2008-07-17 -- SEATTLE (AP) -- Blind people generally use computers with the help of screen-reader software, but those products can cost more than $1,000, so they're not exactly common on public PCs at libraries or Internet cafes. Now a free new Web-based program for the blind aims to improve the situation. It's called WebAnywhere, and it was developed by a computer science graduate student at the University of Washington.
