Most Important Factors to Consider When Buying a Used Motorcycle
Depending upon your finances you may find yourself looking to purchase a used motorcycle. There are numerous of people who sell used motorcycles for very good prices everyday. But there are some important factors you should consider before signing the deal.
You want to always check out the merchandise. If possible give the motorcycle a test drive and find out how it runs. This is important to ensure you will be getting your hard earned money's worth. Make sure you take into consideration the wear and tear on the bike. Ask about the owner or owners.
Run the motorcycle's VIN number. When in doubt about a seller of the motorcycle or the motorcycle itself, write down the VIN number and have it ran to make sure it is a legit sale. This goes for used motorcycles purchased outside of a dealership, such as yard sales, newspaper listings and other listings including eBay.
Check the mileage on your motorcycle, you don’t want to purchase a motorcycle and then will have to replace the motor or any other parts shortly after. If you are purchasing the motorcycle through a listing you came across, more than likely it is being sold as is. This means you will not get your money back if something goes wrong.
Make sure you have all the contact information about the person you are buying the motorcycle from. You need a bill of sale and title. This will be needed when you go and try to have the motorcycle registered and to pick up tags.
Most importantly make sure the motorcycle is what you want before making your deal. Once you sign on the dotted line there may be no turning back.
