How to Start a Lawn Mower

Starting a Push Mower
Step 1: Check to make sure there is oil and gasoline in the lawn mower.
Step 2: Locate the prime button on the lawn mower and push it 3-5 times.
Step 3: Hold the starting lever and pull on the pull cord. You will have to pull on the cord a few times before the mower starts.
Step 4: Keep holding the starting lever and begin mowing the grass.
Starting a Riding Lawn Mower
Step 1: Check to make sure there is oil and gasoline in the lawn mower.
Step 2: Sit on the lawn mower and press the clutch with your foot.
Step 3: Set the parking brake and move the gearshift to the neutral position.
Step 4: Set the throttle on either the fast or slow setting.
Step 5: Insert the key into the ignition and start the mower.
Step 6: Allow the engine to warm up before beginning to mow.
