How to Receive HD Cable Channels
Receiving HD cable channels is a lot easier that most people think. In order to receive HD channels, you first have to have an HD television so that your channels will come in clearly and not be fuzzy on your television. If you do have an HD TV, most all local channels will come in just fine.
- Check your television to make sure that it can get an HD signal. If your television is high definition, you will not have a problem at all. Because high definition is transmitted on a different signal than traditional television, you will have to have a special box to get a signal on a non-HD television.
- Look online or call the cable companies in your area to get a quote on how much it will cost for HD service in your home. Be sure to tell them how many TVs are in your house so that they can give you the best quote on your HD service price.
- Select a package that you like best and have the cable company send you the HD receiver or have them come out and install your service.
- Plug the HD receiver box into the wall as well as into the television. Program the channels as instructed in the manual or by the cable technician. This could take a few minutes to download the channels to your HD receiver box.
- Once your cable is all set up, go through your channels to make sure that all of them are broadcasting in high definition. Most all local channels only run in high definition now so be sure to specifically check your cable channels.
