Materials Needed

  • Broom

  • Dustpan

  • Garbage can

  • Gloves

  • Bucket

  • Water

  • Color safe bleach

  • Scrub brush

  • Mop

  • Cloth

  1. Use a broom to thoroughly clean the floor of all dirt, dust and debris. Place the dirt in a dustpan and discard it in a garbage can. Make sure you get the corners as well.

  2. Open the doors and windows to make sure the area is well ventilated. Make sure you wear gloves while working with the bleach.

  3. Fill a bucket with two parts warm water and add one part color safe bleach to it. The color safe bleach will not fade the tiles.

  4. Use a scrub brush and the cleaning solution to clean the grout first. Dip the mop in the solution and wring it out until it is wet but not saturated. Clean the entire floor with the solution. Dip the mop in the solution as many times as necessary to clean the floors thoroughly. Change the cleaning solution if it becomes too dirty.

  5. Pour out the cleaning solution and rinse the bucket. Rinse the mop as well. Fill the bucket with clean water. Use the water and mop to rinse the floor.

  6. Use a dry clean cloth to dry the floor. Allow the floor to further dry by air until it is completely dry.
