How to Buy Limousines

If you’re in the market to buy limousines, whether for personal or business use, you’ll need to know where to begin. Although buying a limousine is not much different from buying a regular passenger car, there a few things that you’ll need to look out for. By reviewing a few steps, you’ll learn how to buy limousines in a flash.

Visit a limo dealer. Look in the yellow pages for limousine dealers in your area and visit them to see the limos in person. This way, you can sit inside, look under the hood and negotiate price.

Check online limo dealers. You’ll find a large variety of websites that offer limousines for sale. Many of the websites are owned by limousine dealers and other websites may be chock full of “limousine for sale” classified ads. Before you buy limousines, make sure you get it thoroughly checked out by a reputable mechanic of your choosing.

Inquire at the DMV. Before you buy limousines, it is a good idea to determine which class of license plates that the vehicle will need to display. Typically, “livery” license plates are mandated on all limousines, but check with your local Secretary of State’s office or Department of Motor Vehicles to be sure. The DMV can also provide you with information on restrictions or other necessities you’ll need when you buy limousines.

Read the classifieds. Your local newspaper might contain classifieds from people selling limousines.  Generally, people who place classified ads in suburban or local newspapers live in the same community as you do, so you probably won’t have to travel far to see the advertised limousine. Make sure to test drive the vehicle, and if possible, try to bring a mechanic with you, or someone who is well versed in auto mechanics and repair.
