About About The House - Home Inspections

Buying a home in Fairhope, Daphne, Spanish Fort? Or in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach or Mobile?

I would be pleased to inspect your future home or property. I have inspected over 5,000 homes, condos, & commercial buildings since 1996. www.InspectTestAnalyze.com.

I set a high standard for my inspections: I inspect each home as if I were inspecting it for a member of my family. I inspect each commercial building (apartments, restaurants, office buildings, retail space, strip malls, metal buildings) as if I were personally investing in them myself. That's the toughest standard that I know. I believe that's the standard you'd expect.

Call me at (251) 990-3169.

Thorough & professional inspections

In my opinion, Tom Sinclair is the most qualified inspector in Baldwin and Mobile Counties. As an appraiser for twenty-five years, I have seen many instances where a truly competent inspector can reveal to a potential or existing homeowner many items that can cause huge problems if not identified. It is most important that the inspector you choose has the abilities and experience to do the job correctly. I highly recommend this company.

Home Inspection

Tom inspected a house we were looking to purchase. He pointed out areas that needed work that we had overlooked and as a result we were able to make a much better decision on the aquisition of the home. Tom was thorough and his report was very detailed and clear with pictures and descriptions of his findings.

Home in Baldwin County

I hired Tom Sinclair to do an inspection on a home I wanted to buy in Baldwin CO. He is very through and honest. After his inspection, my husband & I decided not to buy this house because of the work involved. This showed me that Tom works for his customer. I will hire him again when and if I find another house. Thanks Tom

Why Have a New House Inspected? (Part 3 of 3)

(Continued from part 2) Story #3: Let’s talk flashing. Do you know what flashing is, where it goes and what it does? If you do, you’re in the top 10%!Flashing prevents water from entering an intersection of two parts of the house, like a wall and a roof. Flashing is generally installed around the base of a chimney, at the roof, to keep the water out. Flashing is generally installed between the wall of a two-story house and the roof of the adjacent master suite (single story)Leave out the flas... READ MORE Posted April 02, 2007 at 10:33 AM

Why Have a New House Inspected? (Part 2 of 3)

(continued from Part 1)     Story #2: New house. Pretty house. Reputable builder. Reputable builder. Local municipal inspector signed off on several in-process inspections. A final CO (Certificate of Occupancy) was issued. (Sound familiar?) Who noticed that there was no roofing paper (sometimes called tar paper or felt) under some of the shingles? Maybe the framing crew knew (they’re the ones that put the roofing paper on after the plywood roof decking was installed). Probably the r... READ MORE Posted March 29, 2007 at 10:39 PM

Why Have a New House Inspected? (Part 1 of 3)

It’s brand spanking new! It still has that “new home” smell (really just paint, carpets and cabinets off gassing). The builder offers a full year warranty. Why bother having the house inspected? Right?   Well, maybe.   Hear the stories:   Story #1: New house. Pretty house. Big house. Reputable builder. Local municipal inspector signed off on several in-process inspections. A final CO (Certificate of Occupancy) was issued. Apparently no one noticed the large red sticker glued to... READ MORE Posted March 28, 2007 at 07:57 PM
