yes get everything in writing!!! a few years ago, my sisters wedding was cancelled about 8 months out. Mrs armstrong said if the hall rebooked on that date, she would refund the deposit. when called a couple weeks prior to the date, she told us it had not rebooked. We drove out to the hall on the date and found there WAS a reception in progress! She still refused to refund the deposit.

All I can say is beware. Make sure that every single detail is written down on the contract and that she initials it. Don't take anything for granted. NOT one thing. One week before our wedding, she told us we responsible to pay for linens which she had previously told us were included (another 400$) She also tried to charge us a 9$ bar tab per person for small children who would be attending our wedding. Additionally, she wouldn't even let us bring drinks in for the small children, nor did she offer to furnish them. When I reserved the hall over a year ago, the reception hall marquee was broken. A year later, it is still in disrepair and cannot announce my and my husbands' wedding to passers by. INstead of Mrs. Armstrong making the most important day of your life a positive experience, she prefers to take your money and make you miserable. My advice? Spend a few extra dollars and save yourself money and frustration in the long run!
