BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made the mistake of living in an apartment managed by Rampart. I didn't have a lot of time to look, and wasn't being too picky. Big mistake. The building was horribly maintained, and infested with roaches. I complained about the roaches, and they most Rampart would do is occasionally send the same pest control company that would put down "gel" which I could buy in the store myself. \t\n\t\nWell eventually bed bugs moved in, and the nightmare began. The management ignored my repeated entreaties for bed bug treatment. I had to pay $2000 for extermination myself, and move because the neighboring apartments were not treated. I had to take Rampart to small claims court after moving out, and the building is still infested with bed bugs. I feel so bad for the people that still have to live in this filth. Bed bugs are not something to toy with. I had to throw away most of my furniture. You have lots of choices as a tenant, stay away from slumlords.\t\n\t\n

Oh my gosh, it's like mafia run. They have rent controlled units (like half of los angeles) and they try and get around it by charging 120 to park in the lot near the apartments, after we've all parked there for more than a decade. They're raising rent by 500 dollars when tenants move out and I think that's what they're trying to get the remaining tenants to do. They NEVER pick up around the place and garbage builds in the laundry facilities, I've called three times to have the dryer repaired and finally just gave up. I'm dealing directly with the head of the management company and it's like dealing with Michael Corleone...except that Michael Corleone is loyal to something other than just money...SLUM LORDS.
