You must not be from the South. The idea for this store is that it brings back wonderful memories and the way a variety of merchandise was sold in the very early years of the American South. It is a place to visit on a warm Sunday afternoon and browse to your heart's content. No one in the store pushes you to make a purchase anything. If it entices you then buy it, if not keep your money. People today are so busy, families all go in different directions and you have NO MEMORIES to warm your heart as your children grow and leave home. It's not about the MONEY, IT'S ABOUT FAMILY MEMORIES.

I see so many people stop here and pay WAY too much for things. The candy store (other than a few hard to find old fashioned items) are nothing more than what you can find online or in other stores sold by the pound at a huge markup. Unless you can't find Birkenstocks anywhere else, it's a silly sort of tourist trap.
